Casinos announce more 8/8/08 promos

We have some updates on today's 8/8/08 promotions, including several bonus point additions (see below). Every hour from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the Silverton is giving away $888 to a randomly selected player (who must be using his Discovery Club card). At 8:08 p.m., the casino will have a drawing for $8,888. Railroad Pass is giving away $88 every hour from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and at 8 p.m., there will be a drawing for $888.

From noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, the El Cortez is offering Marie Callender's strawberry pie slices to all Club Cortez members playing table games or slot machines.

From 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in August, the Palms is giving away scratch cards to players earning 100-1,000 points on slots ($100-$1,000 coin-in) or 200-2,000 points on video poker. Scratch card prizes include up to $1,000 in free slot play, point multipliers, free points and restaurant offers.

South Point players earning 300 club points ($300 coin-in; no point redemption required) from midnight-1 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays in August will receive a free lunch buffet. Those earning 500 points before 8 p.m. will receive a free dinner buffet.

On Friday and Saturday evenings (from Aug. 15-30), the Gold Coast will draw eight names to win up to $8,888. Club Coast members will receive one ticket for every 200 points ($200-$400 coin-in) or $10 average bet per hour on the tables. At the 8 p.m. drawing, each winner (who must be present) will receive either $500 or a spin on the wheel to win from $88-$8,888.

The Cannery has made some changes to its players club. Video reel players now receive three American Can Club points for every $1 coin-in, video poker players receive two points for every $1 coin-in, and it now takes 1,200 points to receive $1 cashback. Essentially, this makes the club slightly more generous to video reel players, but the video poker rebate remains the same. On Saturday, players earning 999 points (no point redemption required) will receive a dry-fit logo shirt.

The Sahara is running a card-of-the-day promotion at all casino bars. Video poker players hitting the designated four-of-a-kind (no wild cards, max coins played) receive a cash bonus up to $100.
