Ailing chef Kerry Simon will have a culinary memorabilia case unveiled in his honor on July 17 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. "This place has always honored rock stars and we think of Kerry as a rock star," said Don Marrandino, a top executive with Hard Rock parent company Warner Gaming. The 59-year-old Simon, known as the Rock and Roll chef for his celebrity clientele, went public in December with the news that he has an aggressive form of Parkinson's Disease. Then-Hard Rock owner Peter Morton and Marrandino recruited Simon and Elizabeth Blau to the Hard Rock in 2002. While at Simon Kitchen & Bar, he won an "Iron Chef" episode and later moved to Palms Place to open Simon. The above photo was taken in May at the Epicurean food event at The Palazzo.
