Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year will be celebrated on Feb. 14 in 2010. It is the most important of the traditional Chinese festivals. This year is the year of the Tiger.

RING IN CHINESE NEW YEAR 2010 WITH MGM MIRAGE
MGM MIRAGE will celebrate the 2010 Chinese New Year, the Year of the Tiger, with exhilarating lion dance performances by the Yau Kung Moon Dance Group, a concert at MGM Grand and authentic cuisine at a variety of resort restaurants. The Tiger, the third animal in the Asian zodiac, is a symbol of competitiveness, natural leadership and self-reliance.
The following schedule outlines each lion dance performance, each held in the resort's main valet and porte cochere:
MGM Grand - Saturday, February 13 at 3 p.m.
The Mirage - Sunday, February 14 at 3 p.m.
Bellagio - Sunday, February 14 at 7 p.m.
Mandalay Bay - Sunday, February 14 at 10 p.m.
ARIA - Tuesday, February 16 at 6:30 p.m.
Concert
Sam Hau will perform at 8 p.m. Feb. 13 in the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Tickets are priced at $176.40, $134.40, $92.40 and $50.40, not including handling fees, are now on sale and available at any MGM Grand box office outlet or by visiting mgmgrand.com or ticketmaster.com.
Dining
MGM Grand -- Pearl, whose hours will vary from Feb. 11-21, will offer a traditional Chinese menu in addition to Dim Sum during lunch hours. Lunch will be served only Feb. 12-18. Grand Wok, whose hours also will vary, will feature a special menu with a variety of select delicacies from Feb. 9-21. The Mirage -- Cravings and Fin will each present special dishes. Bellagio - Jasmine and Noodles will offer guests a dim sum lunch at each restaurant from Feb. 13-21. Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
Bellagio's Conservatory & Botanical Gardens ushers in the Year of the Tiger with a spectacular, unique display filled with hidden meaning through March 6. This year's design is guided by the ancient practice of Feng Shui -- the art of using surroundings to attract harmony, balance and positive life energy. The teachings of Feng Shui are used to position the flow of water into Bellagio's Conservatory, ensuring positive energy. The exhibit features a majestic tiger, a rock garden, a tranquil pond of koi, gold leafed I-Ching coins, an 18-foot-tall Chinese God of Prosperity and more.
Chinese Historical Photo Exhibition
"Looking Back After 30 Years," a 30-year restrospective of the China-United States diplomatic relations, will be present through Feb. 22 on the second the third levels of Crystal's retail and entertainment district. Admission is free.
FESTIVE DECOR AND TRADITIONAL DRAGON DANCE AT THE VENTIAN AND THE PALAZZO
The Venetian and The Palazzo will celebrate Chinese New Year and the Year of the Tiger with an authentic dragon and lion dance with firecrackers at 3 p.m. Feb. 13 and festive decorations featuring a 16.5-foot long Tiger and Chinese Bridge in the atrium gardens of The Shoppes at The Palazzo with citrus trees representing good luck and fortune.

The ceremonial dragon and lion dance will begin at The Venetian's lavish Porte-Cochere, making its way through The Venetian Casino, into The Palazzo Waterfall Atrium, through The Palazzo Casino and end in the upper Palazzo Porte-Cochere. The colorful spectacle will feature a parade of dancers and musicians dressed in elaborate costumes playing authentic music.
One additional dragon dance, minus the eye painting ceremony, will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 14 beginning in The Venetian Porte-Cochere, make its way through the casino into The Palazzo Waterfall Atrium and ending in The Palazzo Porte-Cochere. All dragon dances will be open to the public.
Decorations throoughout both The Venetian and The Palazzo will be featured through the third week of February.
DRAGON PARADE AT FORUM SHOPS AT CAESARS
To celebrate Chinese New Year and the year of the Tiger, The Meadows School will perform the traditional dragon parade throughout The Forum Shops at Caesars. The cast of singers and dancers includes 120 Meadows students - 60 from kindergarten and 60 from fifth grade plus the school's very special guests Mayor Oscar Goodman and his wife, Carolyn.
When: 10 a.m. Feb. 18
Where: Forum Shops at Caesars - Parade begins near Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab, continuing throughout the entire shopping center and stopping for a primary performance at the Fountain of the Gods in front of Gucci. The parade will then continue, ending at The Forum Shops lower valet area.

CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION & ASIAN FOOD FESTIVAL

Admission: $3 general admission, $1 for children ages 6-12, and free for children ages 5 and under
The event will feature the lion dance, Japanese Taiko drums, Chinese folk dance, Japanese dance, Chinese martial arts, Tahitian dance, Chinese acrobats, Phillippine bamboo stick dance, Korean dance and the dragon dance. There will also be arts and crafts, calligraphy, a fortune teller and more than 30 different retail vendors displaying merchande from various parts of Asia (702-221-8448).
