The annual ArtFest of Henderson offers an opportunity to see the other side of Las Vegas! Discover life off the strip, spend the day strolling through 200 selected Fine Artist displays from across the nation. Three stages provide dozens of different entertainment acts including jazz, folk, reggae, and light rock. Plus, local children will display their performing art on stage, all accompanied by fine food that will tempt your taste buds! The ArtFest of Henderson outside Las Vegas, is the biggest southern Nevada art festival each season.
Jazz in the Park series featuring The Dirty Dozen Brass Band

Starting its 18th year, the free Jazz in the Park concert series has become a Las Vegas tradition. Some of the biggest names in jazz have highlighted our annual concert series. Picnics, blankets and low back chairs are welcome. Food and drink are available for purchase on site. All concerts start at 8:00pm. No pets allowed.
The Dirty Dozen Brass Band has borrowed on Marvin Gaye's inspiration to create a crowning achievement in their own career, which spans more than three decades of innovation and leadership in New Orleans music and beyond.
Mother's Day at Liberace Museum
Free admission from noon to 4 p.m. for Nevada residents and guests
May marks the month of many celebrations and milestones, especially Mother's Day and May 16, which would have been the 89th birthday of Liberace. Liberace, aka "Mr. Showmanship," during his lifetime lived passionately, adored his Mother and absolutely loved to entertain. In celebration, the Liberace Foundation and Museum will host a special 2nd Sunday Mother's Day and Birthday event. The 2008 Music In The Museum Series will be presented during the celebration, featuring the Liberace Scholars Quartet, who are students from UNLV who will perform Mozart's String Quartet in D Major, K. 575. The Mozart Quartet in D Major will be paired with Joseph Haydn's Quartet in F Minor, Op. 20, No. 5, to be performed by another of UNLV's premier student groups. Performance times of the Liberace Scholars Quartet are 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Donations are requested for both performances. All contributions go to the Liberace Scholarship Fund to help talented students pursue careers in the performing and creative arts. Complimentary birthday cake will be served to guests on a first-come, first-serve basis, and an exhibit about membership and support to Liberace's greatest legacy, the Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts. Mother's Day Tea
Served in the romantic Lobby Lounge of the Ritz-Carlton with panoramic views of Lake Las Vegas, Mother's Day Tea is offered from 1 to 4 p.m. on May 10 and 11. Guests will enjoy a generous selection of loose and spectacular flowering teas which make for a beautiful presentation when slowly steeped in hot water. Afternoon Tea is served with four kinds of tea sandwiches, an assortment of desserts and freshly baked scones with mascarpone cream, lemon curd, jams and marmalades. Prices range from $40 to $48 for adults or $25 to $32 for children. Reservations are recommended.

The fresh catch of the day for $32 will feature coconut crusted Alaskan Halibut served with citrus marmalade, green beans almandine and vanilla jasmine rice. For dessert, they will offer the strawberry shortcake supreme for $10 -- angel food cake piled high with fresh strawberries, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and drizzled with a Grand Marnier sauce.
Bistro Buffet, The Palms

Mother's Day specials include the Southwestern crab cake appetizer for $8; Tex-Mex shrimp cocktail appetizer for $7; petite filet mignon marinated in white wine, fruit juice and spices accompanied with jumbo shrimp and served with a cilantro lime glaze for $17; and jumbo shrimp tossed in a creamy white wine sauce served with a tender chicken breast for $15.
