Food events: Fancy dinners and making macarons

Honey Salt, 1031 S. Rampart Blvd., has introduced its Farm Table dinner series, which begins Monday. Named for the restaurant’s handmade communal tables, the twice-a-month dinners, inspired by gatherings of friends, family and neighbors, will feature seasonally inspired American comfort food. Monday’s dinner will begin with vegetable crudites and Farmer Patrick’s Salad, move on to family-style servings of Irish Rose Soda Bread, ale-braised lamb shanks with parsnip and rutabaga, cabbage-wrapped corned-beef purses and colcannon, and conclude with rice pudding and shamrock cookies. Chef Alex Stratta and Paul Lato, owner and winemakers of Paul Lato Wines, will collaborate on a dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Marche Bacchus, 2620 Regatta Drive. The four-course dinner will open with creamy polenta with wild mushrooms, celery, apple and toasted hazelnuts, move on to marinated heirloom tomatoes with burrata, and braised short ribs of beef with Tuscan kale and stewed leeks, and conclude with pavlova with strawberries and vanilla cream.
