Fremont Street gets 2014 rockin’ with slew of festivities

Some of you, no doubt, will spend Tuesday night wedged onto the Strip like drunken, party-hat-wearing sardines.

We’ll be watching the festivities unfold on TV in our footie pajamas. Assuming we can stay awake that late.

If you’re looking to ring in 2014 somewhere in between, consider heading to the Fremont Street Experience for the Downtown Countdown.

Papa Roach, Blues Traveler, Loverboy, Vince Neil and Adelitas Way will headline the event that also will include performances by local bands.

Virtual fireworks on the Viva Vision canopy will be synchronized to the fireworks on the Strip.

The party will run from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Through Thursday, tickets are $30 online at www.vegasexperience.com/newyearseve. Starting Friday, tickets cost $40 and can be purchased online, at any of the Fremont Street Experience casinos or at the event gates Tuesday night.
