Hard Rock to hand out $10,000 in 'May Mad Money'

On May 19, the Hard Rock Hotel is giving away $10,000 in "May Mad Money," including a $5,000 grand prize. Beginning Thursday, players can earn entries playing the machines, blackjack or placing a minimum $100 bet at the sports book. All new Rockstar Players Club sign-ups receive five free entries. Drawings will take place at 7 and 8 p.m., and players must be present to win.

The "$200,000 Cash, Cars and Free Play" giveaway continues at Terrible's throughout May. Every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the casino will draw 25 names to win $200-$500 (the exact amount is based on the winner's player club tier). Some of the prizes are cash; others are awarded in free slot play. All winners also receive an entry into the grand prize drawing on May 28 for a 2008 Nissan Altima.

Six names will be drawn on May 30 at Arizona Charlie's Boulder and Arizona Charlie's Decatur -- five will receive $1,000, and the grand prize winner has a choice of $10,000 or a 2008 Lincoln MKZ. Players receive one entry for every 50 points earned at the machines.

Santa Fe Station is giving away $10 gift cards in the pit at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. every Thursday in May. At each drawing, five winners will receive (their choice) cards for gasoline, groceries and national chain stores including Target and Wal-Mart. Pit players earn one virtual entry for $10 average bet per hour.

The Silverton is offering a free play option to Discovery Club members this month. Every 500 points ($500 coin-in) earned this month at slots, video reels and video keno or every 1,000 points ($1,000 coin-in) earned on video poker can be redeemed for $3 in free play.

From 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in May, Palms players earning 100-750 points on slots ($100-$750 coin-in) or 200-750 points on video poker ($200-$1,500 coin-in) are entitled to a variety of gifts. No point redemption is required.

Several casinos are doing Mother's Day bingo specials on Sunday. Sam's Town is giving away a flower vase at all sessions, the Gold Coast and Suncoast are offering a heart-shaped silver-plated measuring spoon set and Arizona Charlie's Boulder is giving a memory photo box.
