Movie: "Year One"
When: Opening Friday at local theaters
Cast: Jack Black, Michael Cera, Hank Azaria, Oliver Platt, Vinnie Jones, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Olivia Wilde
Director: Harold Ramis
The story: Banished from their primitive village, two lazy hunter-gatherers embark on an epic journey across the ancient world.
The buzz: Two generations of summer-comedy tradition unite in this goofy period romp, which is produced by reigning comedy king Judd Apatow ("Superbad," "Pineapple Express") and directed by Harold Ramis, whose credits include such genre landmarks as 1980's "Caddyshack" and 1983's "National Lampoon's Vacation" -- to say nothing of his co-starring role in 1984's "Ghostbusters" and his writing credits in 1978's "Animal House" and 1981's "Stripes."
