Monster Energy Cup features pit party, hybrid racing

The top riders in the world will compete on a hybrid supercross/motocross track inspired by Ricky Carmichael as part of the second annual Monster Energy Cup on Saturday at Sam Boyd Stadium, 7000 E. Russell Road.

The racing starts at 7 p.m., but gates to the pit party will open at 12:30 p.m.

The pit party will include exhibitions by X Games medalists Nate Adams, Adam Jones, Taka Higashino, Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg and Blake "Bilko" Williams, and a stunt exhibit hosted by street bike team members Ernie Vigil and Nick Brocha.

Rally car driver Ken Block and Formula Drift icon Vaughn Gittin Jr. also will perform, as will rapper Paul Wall. Fans also will be able to get autographs from the riders in the pits.

Race tickets cost $56 to $66. Admission to the pit party is free with a ticket for the main event.
