Jessica Lange leaving ‘American Horror Story’; Bomer, Jackson join cast

LOS ANGELES — After four seasons starring on “American Horror Story,” Emmy winner Jessica Lange confirmed she’s leaving the FX anthology series, which is executive produced by Ryan Murphy.

“I’m done,” Lange told the crowd at Paleyfest, after repeated questions by the moderator.

“We’ve had a great run here. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I’ve had the opportunity to play, and in all madness, I love the writers and Ryan and the insanity of shooting it.”

Lange had long hinted that the fourth season would be her last.

Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson will be a part of the cast in “American Horror Story: Hotel,” joining the previously announced Lady Gaga in the next season of FX’s anthology series.

The cast of “AHS” made the announcement at the end of its Paleyfest panel. The plot details of their characters are being kept under wraps, with Bomer playing one of the leads.

“I love collaborating with Ryan Murphy,” said Bomer. “It feels like this world where there are no bounds.”

Bomer previously guest starred on the “Freak Show” season of the series. He could neither confirm nor deny any romantic relationship between he and Gaga’s character.

Bomer also worked with “AHS” creator Murphy on his shows “The New Normal” and “Glee,” where Bomer played Darren Criss’ character’s older brother, as well as HBO’s “Normal Heart,” for which Bomer won a Golden Globe.

Jackson has also worked with Murphy, guest starring on “Glee.” He also appeared in “30 Rock” and films “Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks” and “United 93.”

”American Horror Story: Hotel,” produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television, will begin production on the 13-episode season in the late summer and premiere on FX in October.
