5061 E. Sahara Ave. at South nellis boulevard, 207-1055

This could become your favorite Mexican restaurant just for the tacos and breakfast. Start with huevos rancheros, steak and eggs, omelets with chorizo and ham, breakfast burrito (red and green bell peppers, onions, potatoes, eggs) and huevos en salsa verde with onions. Among the large tacos are shrimp, beef tongue, cabeza (steamed beef), fried pork, suadero (pan-fried beef), chicken and tripe. The super burrito has rice, beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo and choice of meat. The veggie burrito is made with rice, beans, bell peppers, onions, lettuce and avocado. There are all your favorite tostadas, crispy tacos, flautas, quesadillas and enchiladas. Tortas or sandwiches include milanesa (breaded steak), cubana (steak, ham, beef franks, mozzarella, onion, tomato, avocado, chipotle sauce), buche (fried pork) and chorizo with eggs. They are served with beans, shredded lettuce, salsa, onions, avocado and tomatoes. Several house specialties are chile rellenos, fajitas and bistek encebollado, where steak strips are prepared with onions, jalapenos, and potatoes. Menudo is served every Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast starts at $4.99 and house specialties at $3.99. Taqueria Santander is open daily from 8 a.m. to midnight. - Jack Bulavsky
