DINE TO DONATE AT CHEEBURGER CHEEBURGER THURSDAY

Cheeburger Cheeburger, 8390 S. Rainbow Blvd., plans to host a Dine to Donate event to benefit HELP of Southern Nevada from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Cheeburger Cheeburger plans to donate 15 percent of all proceeds from sales during that time to the nonprofit group, which provides assistance to low-income families and homeless teens and adults. To participate, patrons are asked to bring in a Dine to Donate flier, which can be printed at helpsonv.org.

SHARE OUR STRENGTH'S TASTE OF THE NATION SET FOR THURSDAY AT THE PALMS

Share Our Strength plans to host its 20th annual Taste of the Nation fundraising event from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday at Rain nightclub in the Palms, 4321 W. Flamingo Road.

A VIP champagne reception is planned for 6 p.m. The event will help raise funds to support SOS's efforts to end childhood hunger in the Las Vegas Valley and across the nation.

More than 35 of the city's chefs and restaurants plan to participate. In addition to food and drinks, a silent auction and live auction are planned. Area charities that will benefit from this year's event are Three Square food bank, Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, UNCE Chefs for Kids and Project MANA.

TASTE & TOAST THURSDAYS COMING TO FRESH52 FARMERS MARKET

Tivoli Village, 400 S. Rampart Blvd., plans to host a farmers market from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The market is sponsored by Desert Companion and will feature fresh produce, libation tastings by Southern Wine & Spirits, local artists, live entertainment, and cooking tips and chef demonstrations, with a new chef and dish featured each week.

MARTORANO'S TO HOST BENEFIT FOR KEEP MEMORY ALIVE AT RIO

Celebrity chef Steve Martorano plans to celebrate five years of his restaurant Martorano's at the Rio, 3700 W. Flamingo Road, by hosting a benefit for Keep Memory Alive at 6 p.m. Friday.

The event will feature Italian wine pairings and is set to begin with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m., followed by a seated dinner at 7 p.m.

Four courses will be presented family-style. The highlight will be trio of veal chop Marsala cooked in Sicilian Marsala wine, Chicken Downtown with spinach and mushrooms and a broccoli rabe dish.

PROJECT DINNER TABLE SET FOR SATURDAY

Project Dinner Table plans to host its next event at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Jackie Gaughan Plaza at the El Cortez, 600 E. Fremont St. The dinner will be served family-style and will feature cuisine by chef Philipp Norsetter of T-Bones Chophouse at Red Rock Resort.

FOOD TRUCK THROWDOWN SET FOR SUNDAY AT TIVOLI VILLAGE

A Food Truck Throwdown is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Tivoli Village, 400 S. Rampart Blvd.

Five Tivoli Village restaurants plan to collaborate with chefs from gourmet food trucks to compete in a culinary showdown. Each team will be given the challenge of creating a dish combining both food styles and presenting their dish to a panel of celebrity judges. Restaurant and food trucks set to participate are Petra Greek Taverna and Slidin' Thru, Bottles & Burgers and Chi-Town Hustlers, Kabuki Japanese Restaurant and Fukuburger, Leoné Café and Tasty Bunz, and Radio City Pizzeria and Haulin' Balls.

SILVERTON TO OFFER $5 MEMORIAL DAY BUFFET FOR REWARDS CLUB MEMBERS

The Seasons Buffet at the Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road, will be $5 for Silverton Rewards Club members on Memorial Day, May 28.

TICKETS ON SALE FOR BREWS & BLUES AT SPRINGS PRESERVE

Tickets are on sale for the third annual Brews & Blues Festival, planned for 4 to 8 p.m. June 2 at the Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd.

The event is scheduled to feature a variety of craft beers from local brewers and those across the country and around the globe. Chicago-based guitarist Ronnie Baker Brooks is set to headline the entertainment.

Advance tickets are $35 and are available at vegasbrewsandblues.com and at the Springs Preserve box office. Only 2,500 tickets will be sold. Advance ticketholders will be admitted to the festival at 3 p.m.

Tickets, if any remain, also will be sold the day of the event for $40.

All ticketholders will receive a sampling glass. The festival is open to guests 21 or older. A portion of each ticket sold will benefit Keep Memory Alive, which supports the mission of the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas.

Hash House A Go Go at the M Resort, 12300 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is teaming up with the Las Vegas 51s baseball team, the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, to host the ninth annual Tip A 51 luncheon at noon Saturday to benefit the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada.

Border Grill at Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is offering a Meatless Monday menu in honor of a national campaign encouraging people to eat meat-free once a week for their health and the health of the planet.

Barley's Casino and Brewing Co. plans to host its annual Brewfest from 2 to 8 p.m. May 26 at 4500 W. Sunset Road.

More than a dozen breweries plan to offer beer tastings, including Red Rock German-style lager, Blue Diamond Helles-style lager and Boulder Gold Hefeweizen.

Tropical Smoothie Café plans to open three new locations on the Strip, with the first set to open May 25 at 3717 Las Vegas Blvd. South at Harmon Avenue.

CANNERY RESTAURANTS SERVING MAY DINING SPECIALS

Waverly's Steakhouse Bar at the Cannery, 2121 E. Craig Road, is offering $5 wine, martinis and appetizers from 5 to 7 p.m. Fridays in May for Wine Down Fridays.

Vino's Pizzeria is offering a large one-topping pizza for $7.99 with a CAN Club card Mondays and Tuesdays in May. Chicken wings are 50 cents and a slice of pepperoni pizza is 99 cents Wednesdays in May.

EASTSIDE CANNERY SERVING MAY DINING SPECIALS

Snaps at the Eastside Cannery, 5255 Boulder Highway, is serving a $3.33 breakfast special from 6 to 10 a.m. Mondays through Fridays in May. It features two eggs, bacon or sausage, hash browns and toast.

The restaurant is also offering a $9.99 surf and turf skewer special. It comes with a herb grilled shrimp and bay scallop skewer and a beef with peppers and onions skewer, served with steamed rice and vegetable of the day. The special is available from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily in May.
