Santa must leave Shark Reef soon

Today is the final day to visit Santa Claus in the Shipwreck at Shark Reef Aquarium, where children younger than 12 receive a candy cane and a photo with paid admission to the exhibit.

The Shark Reef exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Admission is $16.95 for adults, $10.95 for children ages 5-12 and free for children 5 and younger.

The Christmas promotion also promises a special appearance by Santa Jaws.

The Shark Reef is North America’s only predator-based aquarium. Visitors to the attraction come face-to-face with a diverse cross-section of aquatic creatures, which include 100 sharks (15 species in all) along with exotic fish, rare golden crocodiles and sea turtles.

Shark reef houses more than 2,000 animals in 1.6 million gallons of seawater.
