Q: What's your actual title? Do they call it, like, "go-go dancer"?
A: It's hard to explain. I do dance there; I guess you could call it a go-go dancer. But most of the time when they hire me to work there (he also dances in "Peepshow" and has been dance captain at Chippendales) it's staged routines. That's basically what I do, but I do go-go. Call it what you will.
Q: How would you describe your moves, choreographically speaking? Do you sort of freestyle it or do set moves?
A: We have choreographed routines we do as a group, but when I dance on the boxes (in the club) we are doing it to whatever kind of music. We stay pretty up to date with the times.
Q: What goes through your mind as you're dancing?
A: Most of the time, I'll be dancing to a really good song and I guess the first thing in my head is, "I hope the DJ doesn't play a bad song."
Q: What would you consider a bad song?
A: Something slow and boring.
Q: Studio 54 is an iconic brand. You're too young to know about Studio 54 in its heyday, so do they give you a crash course in Studio 54 history to bring you up to speed on what it's all about?
A: No, they don't do that. I kind of picked it up on my own.
Q: We know how guys respond to women go-go dancers. How do women -- or men, even -- respond to male go-go dancers?
A: That's interesting. I've done many events and various gigs in Las Vegas, and in the country, and Studio 54 is one of the only places where I've never had any kind of negative vibe from, especially, males, which is interesting. It's a very unisexlike atmosphere, so it's a nice place.
Q: Studio 54 will close on Jan. 8. What sort of Studio 54 memories are you taking away?
A: I guess the biggest thing -- and it's not even about working there -- is, I spent nearly every Halloween and every New Year's there since I've lived here. It's going to be weird not going there anymore.
Q: What do you do when you're not working?
A: I like hiking, and I like going to the gym. I work out a lot.
Q: Any post-dance career plans?
A: I'd like to continue doing this until I can't walk. As far as the future, I don't have a lot of plans. I've always taught (dance). I just kind of go with the flow.
