Your 5 best bets for Vegas entertainment in the week ahead

Steve Martin and Martin Short

Sure are a lot of bluegrass fans out there. But wait: “Three Amigos” fans who previously had to settle for serious banjo from Steve Martin can finally see him doing comedy, and with Martin Short no less. The two have been touring “In a Very Stupid Conversation … With Music,” a comic variety show with plenty of banter. Sunday’s 7:30 p.m. show in Colosseum at Caesars Palace does include an opening set from Martin’s Steep Canyon Rangers. The show is officially sold out, but there is always the re-sale market. The official ticket price is $49.50 to $179.50, or call 888-929-7849 to see if any were freed up.

Bill Engvall

NASCAR weekend can drain the time, beer budget and hearing of race fans. So if you’re trying to fit in a show, get it out of the way Friday with Bill Engvall, the master storyteller very likely to do his “Wives and NASCAR” bit at 9 p.m. in the Mystere theater at Treasure Island. Tickets are $65.35 to $81.70; call 702-894-7722.

Ron White

If Ron White is performing right next door to his fellow “Blue Collar Comedy” alum Engvall on Friday, NASCAR must be in town. But this isn’t a loyalty test if you see Engvall first and save some room in your liver for Scotch, because White also does his stand-up at 10 p.m. Saturday at The Mirage. Either day, tickets are $65.39 to $89.33; call 702-792-7777.

Joe Rogan

Need some life lessons on anything from losing the spare tire to not being a tool? If three-hour Joe Rogan podcasts aren’t enough, he sneaks some of this sage advice into his stand-up too. See him at 9 p.m. Friday in the Ka Theatre at the MGM Grand. Tickets are $39.12 to $63.13; call 800-745-3000.

Sheena Easton

You know she can “Strut” and will always be “For Your Eyes Only.” But locals who got to know Sheena Easton from her long-term stretches on the Strip also remember she wields a wicked sense of humor as well. Catch up at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Suncoast. Tickets are $27 to $49; call 702-284-7777.
