Station Casinos overhauls Boarding Pass club

Station Casinos has transformed the Boarding Pass players club. All new points earned at Palace Station, Boulder Station, Texas Station, Sunset Station, Santa Fe Station, Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock Resort can be redeemed for free play at a rate of 1,000 points per dollar, or 0.1 percent. While free play is not identical to cashback, it's close. Free play can be downloaded (at new kiosks) and then played through at least once.

This "free play for points" program will be for new points only. Boarding Pass points earned before the changeover are unaffected and still may be redeemed for dining, gifts and travel comps.

The other major change in the Boarding Pass program is that the dozen or so video poker machines found in each Station Casino that return more than 100 percent with optimal play now require $4 coin-in to earn one point. All other games still earn points based on a $1 coin-in-earns-one-point formula.

Wednesday and Feb. 27, the South Point will draw 10 names to spin and win from $2,500 to $25,000 on the "Wheel of More Return." Each member of The Club receives two virtual tickets every day by swiping his card and can earn one virtual ticket for every hour he is actively playing with his club card. Tickets also can be earned at every bingo session. Drawings will take place at 8:15 p.m. in the Del Mar Lounge, and players must validate drawing entries at a slot club kiosk prior to 8 p.m. the day of the drawings as well as be present at the drawings to win.

Rampart players earning 350 same-days points ($700 coin-in on slots, $1,400 coin-in on video poker; no point redemption necessary) on Mondays and Wednesdays this month receive a salt and pepper grinder set. Cannery players can earn the same set by earning 599 points ($599 coin-in; no point redemption necessary) in one day.

The Monte Carlo will reopen its doors today after being closed since Jan. 25 because of a fire. Welcome back!
