‘Community’ star says show won’t get 7th season

LOS ANGELES — Sorry, Greendale Human Beings — school may finally be out.

"Community" star Joel McHale said in a recent interview that the show won't be getting a seventh season, telling Metro Weekly that the study group would be too expensive to bring back.

"All of our contracts were up after six years," he said. "All the actors on the show, almost without exception — their stock has risen significantly and it's out of the pay rate that is affordable to make the show. So you're not going to be able to get Alison Brie or Gillian Jacobs at a normal television salary anymore. There is just not enough money to be able to pay for the show."

A rep for Sony, which produces the comedy, said "Community" has yet to be officially canceled.

The series recently wrapped its sixth season on Yahoo Screen, being resurrected by the digital platform after its cancellation at NBC.
