The original Last Frontier opened in 1942 and was the second hotel on The Strip. It was demolished in 1966 to make way for the current Frontier, which was once owned by Howard Hughes. Expansion in the 1990s took over land where the Silver Slipper stood. It is now owned by Phil Ruffin.
