Excerpt:
Make no mistake, I am not applauding or recommending poverty. There was a time in my walk where I thought the less I had the greater God would be pleased with me; that is so false. The stripes on my back that I received from being poor, I would clean them up and put them on my chest to brandish my lack, like some sort of merit badge. By the same token, you should not be in such a hurry to become accomplished, for dignities are not in possessing honors but deserving them.
I know people who are so bent on having material wealth that they give chase at the expense of their relationship with the Lord. This, my friend, is not what God wants either. We must acknowledge each extreme and, through God’s assistance, achieve a just balance.
