Literary Las Vegas: Annie Meadows

Henderson resident Annie Meadows is best known as a Christian singer/songwriter with an international following. Recently, she added children’s book author to the mix with a series of inspirational animal books written in the classic style of Beatrix Potter.

“The Lonely little Rabbit: A Christmas Story” teaches the value of friendship, and “The Wise Elderly Owl” encourages readers to respect their elders.

Next up is “The Cat With Manners,” which is slated to be launched with a reading from 1 to 3 p.m. June 21 at the 567 N. Stephanie St. Barnes & Noble.

Meadows plans 15 books in the series and hopes to compile all the tales into a hardbound book when the series is complete. For more information, visit faithrunner.org.

Excerpt:

Soon Benny and Clifford, the two naughty rat boys, were ready to set sail. They quickly slid the ready-made raft into the stream and they were off. “Oh my, what fun this will be,” shouted Benny. “We will be Pirates and sail the world,” said Clifford as he raised himself up to his full height. Both rat boys felt pretty sure of themselves. “No one can tell us what to do anymore!” snorted Benny.

Neither knew the trouble that lay ahead, nor the help that might come too late!
