EVENTS

The Black Mountain Institute and the Eleanor Kagi Foundation present the lecture “Writing in an Untenable World: An Evening With Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Student Union Theatre, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway (895-5542).

The Sweetheart Travel Fair will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Spring Valley Library, 4280 S. Jones Blvd. The travel fair will feature travel representatives, presentations, drawings, and performances by the Ethnic Express International Folk Dancing Club at 4 and 5 p.m., and the Scottish Country Dance at 5:15 p.m. (507-3821).

The Sahara West Book Discussion Group meets at 5:30 p.m. the last Thursday of each month; the Murder in the Library group meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

STORY TIMES

Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for details.
