Children's author and illustrator Jackie Urbanovic will have a book reading and book signing of her "Duck" book series at 7 p.m. Monday at Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson.

A Halloween event, for youths in grades 6-12, featuring a Halloween zombie-themed party to celebrate the end of Teen Read Week, will be 1-5:30 p.m. Saturday at Gibson Library, 100 W. Lake Mead Parkway, Henderson. At 4 p.m., teens will participate in the fifth annual international Thrill the World event by dancing the "Thriller" dance. To attend the event, teens will have to participate in the dance, or bring a food item to donate to Three Square food bank. For more information, call 492-6581.

The Spring Valley Book Discussion Group meets at 1 p.m. the third Sunday of each month at Spring Valley Library, 4280 S. Jones Blvd.

The Classics Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson.


Borders bookstore, 2190 N. Rainbow Blvd., has a writers' group at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

The Henderson Writers Group meets the first, third and fifth Mondays of the month at Saxby's Coffee Lounge, 72 Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson.
