Dining pick of the week: Golden China

4416 N. Rancho Drive at West Craig Road, 586-2999

Gold is precious. When you find it, you want to keep it to yourself. But Golden China has to be shared because it features an extensive menu with everything good about Chinese food. Popular entrees are hot garlic shrimp, ginger onion beef, sweet and sour shrimp, sesame chicken, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, barbecue pork with vegetables and General Tso's chicken. Specialty noodle dishes are chow fun, pad Thai, Singapore curry, Hong Kong-style crispy noodles and authentic New York-style chow mein. House favorites include honey walnut shrimp, asparagus chicken, Seafood Delight, black pepper chicken and salt and pepper shrimp. Vegetarian selections include Buddha's Delight, fried tofu vegetables and Chinese eggplant with tofu and green onions stir-fried in spicy Szechwan sauce. There is curry, chop suey, egg foo yong, teriyaki, soup (corn egg flower, vegetables, hot and sour, won ton), salads and appetizers such as pot stickers, Spam musubi and barbecue sliced pork. Lunch specials come with fried rice and chow mein noodles and are served daily until 4 p.m. Entrees begin at $7.95. Golden China is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. -- Jack Bulavsky
