HENDERSON CITY COUNCIL TO CHANGE MEETING TIME
The Henderson City Council is set to change the time of its meetings from 7 to 6 p.m. starting Aug. 5.
The next meeting is set for 7 p.m. July 15 at the Henderson City Hall, 240 S. Water St.
Public comment is limited to three minutes per individual and 10 minutes per group.

STUDENTS RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIP FOR RESEARCH PROGRAM
Six Henderson students from Nevada State College and the College of Southern Nevada were awarded undergraduate scholarships for the Summer Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program.
Samuel Bassong, Sierra Combs, Brenda Favela-Belmonte, Nicole Vita, Maya Zawlodzki and Kris Thanesjesdapong are set to work on an aspect of the Solar Nexus project, a five-year research project focusing on solar energy generation and its impacts on Nevada’s limited water resources and fragile environment.

LIBRARY PLANS COMPUTER CLASS FOR JULY 16
A computer class is planned from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. July 16 at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway. The class is set to teach advanced functions of Microsoft Word 2010 and is not designed for beginners.
