The four-hour class helps youths ages 11 to 16 gain the knowledge and skills they need to care for infants and children, as well as time to practice these skills in a web-based program.

SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD RECRUITMENT FOR 2014-2015 SCHOOL YEAR STARTS

The North Las Vegas Police Department is recruiting for school crossing guards to work near elementary schools for the upcoming school year. Crossing guards are responsible for assisting students safely across busy intersections on their way to and from school.

The position is part-time and pays $9 an hour. Guards typically work from 6:30 to 9:15 a.m. and 1:30 to 4 p.m. every day when school is in session depending on to which school they are assigned.

The Red Rock Audubon Society hosts bird walks at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, 9200 Tule Springs Road, starting at 8 a.m. on the third Saturday of every month.
