GOLF 4 THE KIDS RAISES $70,000 FOR CHARITIES

The annual Golf 4 The Kids Tournament raised $70,000 for charity through corporate sponsorships, foursomes and donations June 1 at Red Rock Country Club’s private Mountain Course, 2250 Red Springs Drive.

Now in its third year, Golf 4 The Kids supports the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation and the Nevada Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation. After expenses, the money will be split equally between the two nonprofits.

“This illustrates the willingness of our community to help those in need,” said Cure 4 The Kids Foundation CEO Annette Logan. “To see how this tournament has grown and the impact these dollars will have is truly inspiring to us.”

The Nevada Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation plans to use to the money to send children with inherited bleeding disorders to a special, medically supervised summer camp at no cost to families. Cure 4 The Kids plans to use its share to support its Charity Care Program at its two clinics: The Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada and the Hemophilia Treatment Center of Nevada.

Last year’s event raised more than $46,000.

FOSTERS NEEDED FOR FUPI ANIMALS

Foreclosed Upon Pets Inc. is in urgent need of foster families for rescued dogs and cats. Fostering plays a major role in the success of the organization. In many circumstances, the animals have come from harsh backgrounds, have been abandoned or have lost their home through no fault of their own.

The foster’s main responsibility is to offer the dog or cat a safe and secure environment. The foster will offer a nurturing background, possibly provide some basic training and consequently help to make the animal a better candidate for adoption.

For more information, contact FUPI at forecloseduponpets@hotmail.com or 702-272-0010.
