Teens invited to Tie-dye at library

Teens are invited to try their hands at a tie-dye craft from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Sunrise Library, 5400 Harris Ave. Because space is limited, registration is recommended. Bring a pre-washed white or light colored shirt to dye and clothes that can get messy. For more information, call 507-3900.

RC Plane enthusiasts to share hobby

The Las Vegas Radio Control Club plans its monthly trainer day and fun fly at 8 a.m. Saturday at William Bennett Field, 6800 E. Russell Road. The field is just north of Sam Boyd Stadium. SOUTHERN NEVADA MUSICAL ARTS SOCIETY TO AUDITION SINGERS

The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society invites singers to perform the works of G.F. Handel, Joseph Haydn and John Rutter with the Musical Arts Chorus & Orchestra.

The society's 70-voice Musical Arts Chorus plans to accompany Andrea Bocelli Nov. 24 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Membership in the choral ensembles is by audition. Rehearsals are planned from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sundays, beginning Sunday, at the Beam Music Center, Room No. 159, on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.

This year the society is celebrating its 50th anniversary season, as well as Dr. Douglas R. Peterson's 45th year as music director.

Clark county sends out call for Day of the dead artwork

Clark County Parks and Recreation is seeking art submissions to be displayed at the Day of the Dead exhibition at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive, from Oct. 23 through Nov. 3. Works must relate to the holiday, which celebrates the lives of past and present loved ones. Artists must be 14 or older and residents of Clark County. A $100 prize is slated for best of show. blackjacks plan Rugby practice

The Las Vegas Blackjacks rugby team is scheduled to practice at 7 p.m. today and Wednesday at Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road.

The group practices at the park regularly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the off-season. Anyone interested in rugby is invited to participate. Participants should bring a T-shirt, water and cleats or soccer boots. For more information, email info@ lasvegasblackjacksrugby.com.

The Sunrise Manor Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Hollywood Recreation and Community Services Center, 1650 S. Hollywood Blvd.

PJS FOR PEEWEES FUNDRAISER SET AT GOODFELLAS

A fundraiser, PJs for PeeWees, is planned from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday at Goodfellas Bar and Restaurant, 2801 N. Tenaya Way.

Bring a new pair of children's pajamas to benefit Variety, the Children's Charity, which assists disabled and underpriviledged local children. A silent auction also is planned. Be part of the fun and wear your own pajamas. A drawing will give away a cruise.
