Encore for Electric Daisy Carnival

Organizers of the Electric Daisy Carnival are close to announcing details of a return to Las Vegas, including the likelihood of an earlier date.

Founder Pasquale Rotella promised via his Twitter feed this week that the three-day electronic music marathon would be back after a highly successful debut in late June at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

There have been industry rumblings that Rotella has been looking at dates between late May and mid-June, when temperatures are cooler for the sundown-to-sunrise schedule.

About 230,000 tickets were sold, making it the largest music event in Las Vegas history and one of the premier music festivals in the world.

Las Vegas landed the 14th edition of the sprawling light show after its owners, Insomniac, relocated from Los Angeles amid various issues, including a drug-related death.


The Vegas Rocks Awards show is back at the Hilton showroom for a second year on Sunday, with rockers hitting the red carpet at 6 p.m. The show celebrates the seventh anniversary of Sally Steele's Vegas Rocks magazine. Motley Crue's Vince Neil will receive the Rock 'n' Roll Lifetime Achievement Award. …

Rumors are flying that cast members of the hit TV show "Glee" will be among Saturday's sold-out crowd of 4,000 at Adele's Las Vegas debut at The Chelsea. Thanks to her monster hit "Rolling in the Deep," which has been nearing the 3 million sold mark, the British songbird has spent 12 weeks at the top of the charts. That is the most since Santana's "Supernatural" in 1999 and 2000. Her album "21" is making a strong bid for album of the year honors. These Cosmopolitan restaurants are offering a 5-7 p.m. pre-fixe menu: Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill ($65 per person), Holstein's ($28), Jaleo ($55), Estiatorio Milos ($49) and Comme Ca ($49). ...

Add Ted Quillin's name to those who will be honored at the Nevada Broadcast Association's Hall of Fame gala Saturday at Red Rock Resort. Quillin was a deejay legend in Los Angeles before working here. He was inadvertently left off a list here Wednesday.


Star chef Hubert Keller, a regular on Bravo's "Top Chef" franchise, is offering a small-plates "eat the menu" feast at Fleur, formerly known as Fleur de Lys, an upscale eatery at Mandalay Bay. For $450, and recommended for parties of six or more, the tapas extravaganza includes almost everything on the menu except high-end items such as caviar, wagyu beef, foie gras items and steak tartare.


Marie Osmond and R&B star Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, at separate tables at Gladys Knight's show at the Tropicana on Wednesday. … Joe Trammel, a prop comic in "V -- The Ultimate Variety Show" (Planet Hollywood), made a statement during his act on Wednesday. After spotting R&B artist Omarion talking on his cellphone in the front row, Trammel took away the phone and told the caller that Omarion would have to call back later. Omarion, who appeared in the film "You Got Served," laughed and went along with it. … Actress Ruta Lee, who was one of the brides in the film "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, dining at the grand opening of Pasta Cucina at Palace Station on Wednesday. ... Former heavyweight boxing champion Ken Norton, dining at Casa Di Amore on Thursday with his daughter and manager. Norton recently moved from San Clemente, Calif., to Las Vegas. ... Santana, at the Virgin Airlines terminal Thursday after a flight from San Francisco.
