From the organic ingredients to the recycled chairs, LYFE Kitchen stresses the importance of not only its customers’ well-being but also the environment’s. The health-conscious restaurant opened July 9, offering a variety of organic, low-calorie meals for less than $15. Many dishes are gluten-free and vegan- and vegetarian-friendly. Each meal is prepared with locally grown fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs and spices, whole grains and grass-fed meats whenever possible. Dishes include the Pizzadillawich (a folded pizza stuffed with eggplant, peppers, onions, goat cheese, mozzarella and basil), barbecue chicken flatbread (grilled chicken, sweet corn, onion, cilantro, barbecue sauce and mozzarella cheese) and Barramundi noodle bowl (sea bass, soba noodles, mushrooms, scallions and edamame). Soups, salads, flatbreads, sandwiches and burgers are also available. Seasonal items include Buffalo chicken salad, spicy eggplant flatbread, and chicken and kale soup. Drinks range from organic coffee to beer. The restaurant’s modern lighting and earthy color scheme create a warm atmosphere, making it an acceptable choice for any dining occasion.
