Care for a taste of Japan? Yuzu Japanese Kitchen is a great way to get it. Whether it is in a rice bowl, such as the seafood bowl for $6.95; hot dishes, such as the halibut or salmon foil broil for $9.50; or a chef’s special, such as the fried oysters for $6.50, there are plenty of options for various palettes. Chef’s specials rotate throughout the week, but popular items such as the oysters make repeated appearances. Even for the person who doesn’t know where to start, Yuzu offers kaiseki, a traditional Japanese multicourse meal. Each course is served individually and presented in an authentic manor to be both aesthetically pleasing as well as delicious. People can start with the Kaiseki Course B, seven to eight courses that include items such as kobachi, sashimi, tempura and dessert for $30. There is also the Kaiseki Course A for $50, which is nine to 10 courses, including a grilled dish, a fusion dish, sashimi, kobachi, soup, rice and dessert, or the Omakase Kaiseki, which is 10 to 13 courses of seasonal ingredients and chef’s specials for $100. Orders for kaiseki must be made three days in advance. Individual menu items range from $5 to $15. Yuzu is open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for dinner from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
