Free barbecue for some lucky Dickey’s patrons


Who says Friday the 13th is unlucky? Barbecue expert and company chairman Roland Dickey will visit Dickey’s Barbecue Pit at 7430 Las Vegas Blvd. South from noon to 2 p.m. Friday to hand out 100 signed copies of his cookbook and give three customers free barbecue for a year. And that location and the one at 5597 S. Rainbow Blvd. South will serve $2 sandwiches from noon to 2 p.m. Friday. …

And speaking of barbecue: A class on pairing whiskey and barbecue will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Double Helix at Town Square, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The class will feature Double Helix’s exclusive Jack Daniel’s blend, plus other Jack Daniel’s selections. It’s $30; call 702-735-9463. …
