IMMUNIZATION CLINICS PLANNED THROUGH MAY 3

The Southern Nevada Immunization and Health Coalition plans to host no-cost immunization and health clinics during National Infant Immunization Week April 26-May 3.

The April 26 clinic is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Discovery Children’s Museum, 360 Promenade Place, for families enrolled in the Nevada WIC program.

The May 2 clinic is planned from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. during a Baby Happy Hour Health Fair sponsored by Helping Kids Clinic at Trinity Life Center, 1000 E. St. Louis Ave.

The May 3 clinic is planned from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Passport to Immunizations sponsored by the Southern Nevada Health District at 330 S. Valley View Blvd.

HEALTH EVENTS SET AT SOUTHWEST MEDICAL ASSOCIATES LIFESTYLE CENTER

The Southwest Medical Associates Lifestyle Center-West, 8680 W. Cheyenne Ave. (look for the entry marked Social Club), plans to host an advanced directives information session at 9 a.m. April 24. Medical directives for care of those who become incapacitated will be discussed. To register, call 702-677-3053.

STOP SMOKING WORKSHOP PLANNED THROUGH APRIL 28 AT SUMMERLIN HOSPITAL

A free Freedom from Smoking workshop is planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays through April 28 in Classroom 1B (past the cafeteria) at Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, 657 N. Town Center Drive.

The American Lung Association invites smokers desiring to quit to attend and create a week-by-week, personalized plan.

WEST CHARLESTON LIBRARY TO HOST MEDICARE WORKSHOP

The West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to host a free Medicare workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. April 29 and May 29.

The event is set to cover benefits and beneficiaries, deductibles and co-pays, how to file a claim, how to detect and report Medicare fraud and abuse, caregiver protection and more.

The West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to host a health lecture on acid reflux, diverticulosis, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia from 2 to 4 p.m. May 4.
