What: Garden workshop

Master gardeners from the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and the South Valley Rose Society are presenting a class about rose oil production and distillation. Bob Morris, professor emeritus for the University of Nevada and garden columnist for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, will teach the session.

What: Garden workshop

“Composting” is the title of the session. Participants will learn the basics of composting, including water, containers, time and materials.

Where: Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd.

Cost: $10 for members; $15 plus general admission for nonmembers

What: Children’s garden workshop

University of Nevada Cooperative Extension master gardeners will teach the session for children of all ages. “Tricks or Treats” is the title of the session, which will have a festive Halloween theme.

Join Springs Preserve experts for a guided walk through the gardens.

Nevada Garden Club will sponsor the show, themed “Nature’s Wonders — Flora and Fauna.” In addition to floral designs, which will be judged, there will be horticultural and educational exhibits.
