What: Water Smart by Design; class 1. Discover the seven steps of water smart landscaping, the basics of landscape design, how to select a theme and the plants that will bring it to life, and how to plant and maintain your new living work of art. Design 1-4 must be taken as a series. Design 5 and 6 can be taken as stand alone classes. Classes continue on Thursday evenings.

My landscaper is recommending a redbud tree in the planter attached to my pool. I asked him if that’s a good tree to plant so close to the pool.

You should smell a big difference between bay laurel and cherry laurel, which come from different plant families despite their similar names.
