MUSIC

Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will present the De La Salle University Chorale at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. A goodwill offering will be taken (454-8484).

EVENTS

Calvary Community Assembly of God, 2900 N. Torrey Pines Drive, is offering the Summer Food Service Program weekdays through Aug. 23. Lunch is served from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. The meal is free of charge. No registration is required. Ages 2 to 18 are eligible regardless of race, color, national origin, sex or disability.

United Methodist Social Ministries is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Through Aug. 23, meals will be served from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at Griffith United Methodist Church, 1701 E. Oakey Blvd. Lunch is free of charge. Desert Spring Theatre Arts will present the musical “Children’s Letters To God” at 4 and 7 p.m. Saturday and Aug. 10 and 7 p.m. Friday at Desert Spring United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavilion Center Drive. Admission is $7.50 (290-1173).

The Ramakrishna-Vedanta Center, 10732 Balsam Creek Road, will have arati and a lecture on “Current Research on Consciousness and Health,” by Swami Atmavidyananda of the Ramakrishna Order of India, beginning at 5 p.m. Monday. A potluck will follow (646-4889).

J.O.Y. Ministry is having its summer’s Ladies Prayer Breakfast from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 10 in Social Hall “B” at Sun City Aliante Community Center, 7394 Aliante Parkway, North Las Vegas. The entrance fee is $5, and includes a continental breakfast, anointed music, Christ-centered Bib le study and outreach fellowship, games, drawings and more. For reservations, call 647-0015.

Catholic Daughters of America Court Our Lady of the Rosary No. 2226 will host a bunco party on Aug. 10 in the Ave Maria Center at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $12 and include lunch. MEETINGS

The Sathya Sai Baba Devotional Singing Group meets at 5 p.m. Sundays at 1128 Triumph Court (461-8655).

Hindu Temple & Jain Center of Las Vegas, 1701 Sageberry Drive, offers Balaji Abhishekam services at 10:45 a.m. the first Saturday of the month in the temple, and Aarti Pooja services at noon Sundays (304-9207).

The Ramakrishna-Vedanta Center’s Gita Circle will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 10732 Balsam Creek Road. The meeting will feature arati followed by a Gita study. Arati and a discussion group are offered at 6 p.m. Fridays (646-4889).

CLASSES

Good Samaritan Lutheran Church, 8425 W. Windmill Lane, will offer a summer day camp for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday. The fee is $100 per week, and includes lunch. The camp will feature Bible activities, arts and crafts, and other activities. To register, call 873-3589.

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., will offer “Super Charged Wednesdays,” for ages 6 to 12, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 14. For more information, call 732-2052.

60+ Singles Catholic Fellowship, open to men and women of the Catholic faith, meets the first Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. and the third Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. at the Village Pub, 10900 S. Eastern Ave., Henderson (796-1953 or 989-5198).
