Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will present “Jonathan Gorst: An Evening of Music” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. A goodwill offering will be accepted to benefit Henderson Presbyterian Church food bank (454-8484).

EVENTS

Calvary Community Assembly of God, 2900 N. Torrey Pines Drive, is offering the Summer Food Service Program weekdays through Aug. 23. The lunch service is served from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Lunch is free of charge. No registration is required. Ages 2 to 18 are eligible regardless of race, color, national origin, sex or disability.

United Methodist Social Ministries is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Through Aug. 23, meals will be served from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at Griffith United Methodist Church, 1701 E. Oakey Blvd. Lunch is free of charge. Ages 2 to 18 are eligible regardless of race, color, national origin, sex or disability.

Holy Trinity AME Church, 700 Lola Ave., will have its annual Men’s and Women’s Day with guest speaker Peter Groff, former director of the Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships at the U.S. Department of Education, at 1 p.m. Sunday. The event will begin with a light luncheon, followed by the program at 2 p.m., with music by the church’s Sanctuary Choir and guest choirs and awards presentations. Author and religious scholar Reza Aslan will discuss his new book “Zealot — The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth” at 7 p.m. July 22, at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. A book signing and reception will follow. The event is free and open to the public.

CLASSES

Good Samaritan Lutheran Church, 8425 W. Windmill Lane, will offer a summer day camp for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 22-Aug. 9. The fee is $100 per week, and includes lunch. The camp will feature Bible activities, arts and crafts, and other activities. To register, call 873-3589.

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., will offer “Splash in God’s Word” vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 5-9 for kindergartners through fifth-graders. The fee is $5 per child. The registration deadline is July 22. The church will also offer “Super Charged Wednesdays,” for ages 6 to 12, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 31 and Aug. 14. SINGLES GROUPS
