Stores plan identification program


     Las Vegas youngsters can stop by selected neighborhood 7-Eleven stores to receive a Safe Kids Identification Kit compliments of the convenience store chain..
      McGruff the Crime Dog, a Slurpee character, Metropolitan Police officers and 7-Eleven Loss Prevention personnel will be on hand to assist parents with the identification program.
      Each kit includes a fingerprinting card, a "Crime Biter" badge, an emergency phone number card and a McGruff "Safe Kids" card.
      The schedule, with participating stores, includes:
      -- Today 9 to 11 a.m., 6310 E. Lake Mead Blvd.
      -- April 12, 9 to 11 a.m., 3275 S. Eastern Ave.; 1 to 3 p.m., 4885 S. Jones Blvd.
      -- April 19, 9 to 11 a.m., 2403 S. Eastern Ave.; 1 to 3 p.m., 5110 S. Maryland Parkway.
      -- April 26, 9 to 11 a.m., 6885 W. Flamingo Road; 1 to 3 p.m., 4151 Boulder Highway.
      -- May 3, 9 to 11 a.m., 301 Nellis Blvd.; 1 to 3 p.m., , 6080 W. Flamingo Road.
      -- May 10, 9 to 11 a.m., 3033 S. Arville; 1 to 3 p.m., 225 N. Lamb Blvd.
