CARSON CITY -- An inmate was hospitalized after a prison-yard stabbing Saturday morning at Nevada State Prison, a prison official said.
The unidentified prisoner was stabbed about 9:25 a.m. and suffered multiple puncture wounds to his back and arm, prison spokesman Glen Whorton said.
The prisoner's condition was not available, but he was coherent and able to speak, Whorton said.
Whorton said prison officials didn't know why the man was stabbed. They were questioning prisoners and looking for a weapon, he said.
