Associated Press RENO -- A man shot during a police chase in Reno last week faces a new charge after being recognized by a lab technician during a subsequent hospital stay. The phlebotomist, who wasn't identified, told police that she recognized the man as a suspect in an earlier incident after she went to his Washoe Medical Center room to draw blood from him.
The lab tech said she was preparing to back out of her residential driveway on Feb. 9 when a man tapped her car window and pointed a gun at her. She honked and the man fled. Police said Robert Conder III, 19, of Reno, was released from the hospital Friday and booked into Washoe County Jail on an additional charge of aiming a firearm. He also was arrested on charges of resisting a public officer with a deadly weapon, aiming a firearm, possession of stolen property and burglary in the latest incident.
