     Police identify victim
     of shooting, crash

A man who crashed into a light pole Saturday night after he was shot in an alleyway north of downtown has been identified.
Las Vegas police believe Andre Gray, 24, of Las Vegas was shot shortly after 9 p.m. in an alley north of Van Buren Avenue.
Police were dispatched to the E Street and Jackson Avenue area after someone reported hearing gunshots. Officers arrived and found Gray inside a compact vehicle that had hit a pole on E Street, Sgt. Ken Hefner said.
Paramedics pronounced Gray dead. Police believe the man lost control of the vehicle and crashed after being shot and that the gunshot killed Gray.
Authorities suspect Gray was alone when he drove into the alley, which is in "an area known for high drug activity," the statement said.
Police have no suspects and the case is under investigation.
Anyone with information may call police at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
