Cheyenne defeats Clark in volleyball

Cameron Steele had 18 kills and four aces to lead Cheyenne past Clark 15-7, 10-15, 15-9, 17-15 in prep volleyball Monday at Cheyenne.
      Joe Feiner added seven blocks and six kills for the Desert Shields.
      At Vo-Tech, Jason Staib had nine kills to lead Chaparral to a 15-2, 15-8, 15-6 victory over the Roadrunners.
      Matt Hammons had 27 assists for the Cowboys.
      At Valley, Mitchell Gutherie had eight kills, two blocks and two aces to lead Rancho to a 15-3, 15-5, 12-15, 15-8 victory over the Vikings.
      Daniel Villa had four aces for the Rams.
      At Durango, Cimarron-Memorial defeated the Trailblazers, 15-2, 15-8, 20-22, 17-15.
      John Port had 22 kills for Durango.
      At Las Vegas, Eldorado defeated the Wildcats, 15-9, 15-4, 15-3.
      At Silverado, Bonanza defeated the Skyhawks, 15-13, 15-3, 15-17, 15-5.
      At Basic, Green Valley defeated the Wolves, 15-1, 15-6, 10-15, 16-14.
      At Bishop Gorman, the Gaels defeated Western, 15-13, 15-7, 15-11.
      -- GOLF -- Scott Piercy shot a 35 to lead Bonanza to a 189-211 victory over Silverado at Wildhorse.
      At Badlands, Steve Simister shot a 36 to lead Durango to a 197-254 victory over Cheyenne.
      -- BASEBALL -- Pete Alder threw a two-hitter to lead Basic to a 3-1 home victory over Boulder City.
      Alder struck out nine and walked one.
      Jeff Rednour and Jess Prisbrey were both 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Wolves.
      -- TRACK -- Green Valley's Abby Miller finished fourth in the 1,600-meter run in 4 minutes, 53 seconds Saturday at the Arcadia Invitational.
      Green Valley also finished fourth in the distance medley relay (12:13).
