Pavarotti prepares for Reno concert RENO -- Luciano Pavarotti may postpone his final curtain a bit longer. The tenor said in December he would retire after his last encore in five years, when he will be 66 and his career will be in its third decade. Then again, maybe not. "In 2001 it will be 40 years I am singing. But the voice -- it's still here. My father is 86 and still in perfect voice. I don't know when I am going to retire." Pavarotti met with reporters Thursday, two days before the first of his two solo performances in the United States this year. He will be in Reno on Saturday and in San Jose, Calif., next month. Like his only previous concert in Reno, 12 years ago, no tickets remain for his engagement at the 11,953-seat Lawlor Events Center.
