Las Vegas stogie buffs can look forward to their own section in Cigar Lovers magazine, a regional quarterly that covers Arizona, Southern California, New Mexico and Nevada.
The current issue -- the first to feature Las Vegas -- will be available this week at newsstands, tobacconists, resorts, restaurants, wine shops and sporting events. It will have 132 pages and reach 70,000 readers.
In addition to columns, advice and a calendar of cigar events, the magazine will feature interviews and profiles of prominent cigar smokers and celebrities.
Other features include lists of cigar friendly cruises, resorts and restaurants, and articles about smoking etiquette, fashion, lifestyle and leisure.
"Las Vegas is just really beginning to discover the cigar craze. They want to know what the fuss is about and we are telling them," said Allan Kern, publisher and editor of Cigar Lovers.
Kern is a real estate agent in Arizona and has been smoking cigars for 30 years.
He mentioned the Don Yeyo Cigar Factory in downtown Las Vegas as a quintessential part of the city's cigar culture.
Kern also is interested in the millions of tourists who visit Las Vegas.
"Las Vegas is such a big tourist area for all parts of the country," he said. "People who come to Las Vegas will read Cigar Lovers and see if they can find it in their neck of the woods."
