Ventriloquists plan 1997 convention in Las Vegas

     The 1997 Vegas Ventriloquist Convention will be held May 27-31 at the Imperial Palace, 3535 Las Vegas Blvd. South, and the adjacent Magic & Movie Hall of Fame.
      A highlight of the convention will be a tribute to Paul Winchell, who is scheduled to be on hand to accept the honor. Also scheduled to appear are ventriloquists Jeff Dunham, Jay Johnson, Willie Tyler and Ronn Lucas.
      The convention, which is the first of its kind to take place in Las Vegas, will feature performances and appearances by some of the world's best-known ventriloquists.
