      Bring them on.
Hector Camacho has joined the list of possible opponents for Oscar De La Hoya.
Camacho might have earned a place in De La Hoya's plans by stopping Sugar Ray Leonard in the fifth round in Atlantic City, N.J., on Feb. 28.
Camacho was the subject of the first question De La Hoya was asked last week at media day at his training camp in Big Bear, Calif.
"If he wants to fight me, why not? I will use him as a tuneup," De La Hoya said, smiling.
The undefeated De La Hoya is training for an April 12 showdown with World Boxing Council welterweight champion Pernell Whitaker at the Thomas & Mack Center.
"There is a possibility. It is being considered for the fall. Camacho helped himself with his victory over Ray Leonard," De La Hoya's promoter, Top Rank president Bob Arum, said Saturday by telephone from Albuquerque, N.M.
Arum was in Albuquerque for Saturday night's HBO doubleheader featuring World Boxing Organization junior bantamweight champion Johnny Tapia and International Boxing Federation junior bantamweight champion Danny Romero in separate bouts.
Although Arum said he met with Camacho's promoter, Mike Acri, in Las Vegas, a Camacho fight isn't the top priority.
"Everybody is concentrating on Oscar coming in the ring against Whitaker in his best possible condition. After April 12, we'll sit down and review future opponents," Arum said.
In his last bout Jan. 18 at the Thomas & Mack Center, De La Hoya improved to 23-0 with a one-sided decision over Miguel Angel Gonzalez.
-- MARQUEZ TITLE SHOT -- Top Rank plans to stage an afternoon card April 12 on ABC in the late morning or early afternoon before the De La Hoya-Whitaker card that evening.
Top Rank vice president Todd duBoef said plans were to fill the IBF junior middleweight championship recently vacated by Terry Norris.
DuBoef said Norris vacated his IBF title rather than defend it against Raul Marquez, the mandatory contender. Norris held the IBF and WBC 154-pound titles.
Norris, of Alpine, Calif., will have only his WBC super welterweight belt on the line for his showdown with WBC welterweight champion Felix Trinidad of Puerto Rico.
An announcement has not been made, but the probable date for the Norris-Trinidad fight is June 28 with the Las Vegas Hilton the front-runner as the site.
DuBoef said Marquez, of Fort Worth, Texas, would fight for the vacant IBF junior middleweight belt. The IBF hasn't announced an opponent, but Top Rank matchmaker Bruce Trampler said it could be Jerry Stephens of Shreveport, La.
-- MARCH 29 CARD -- The IBF title fight between champion Michael Moorer and challenger Vaughn Bean on March 29 at the Las Vegas Hilton will include four other televised fights, including three championship bouts.
The Moorer-Bean fight and two others will be televised to Showtime subscribers. Featured in addition to Moorer-Bean will be former WBC super lightweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez against Gary Kirkland of Whiting, Ind., and WBC strawweight champion Ricardo Lopez defending his title against Mongkol Charoen of Thailand.
For non-Showtime subscribers, those three fights and two more title fights will be offered on pay-per-view television.
The additional fights will be World Boxing Organization mini-flyweight champion Alex "Ney, Ney" Sanchez of Puerto Rico defending against Victor Burgos of Mexico and World Boxing Association junior middleweight champion Laurent Boudouani defending against Carl Daniels.
-- CURRY BOUT -- Former welterweight and super welterweight champion Donald Curry has been matched April 9 against Emmett Linton at the Aladdin on DirecTV.
Curry formerly managed and trained Linton before the two had personal differences.
"This is a blood match. This is a blood feud. It really is," Trampler said. "It got to the point where they were going to fight it out in the (Top Rank) gym. It went beyond throwing water on someone's face at the press conference. That aside, it is still two pretty good fighters."
