     Katherine Bykowski
     
     
Katherine Hilma Bykowski, 64, died Thursday.
      A homemaker, she was born June 20, 1932, in Paterson, N.J., and was an 11-year resident of Henderson.
      She is survived by her husband, Leonard of Henderson; son, Wesley Magaster; and stepson, Martin, both of Las Vegas; stepdaughter, Evelyn Walker of Michigan; and 11 grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary-Henderson, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. The family requests donations be made to the Heart Institute.
     
     Inez Contreras
     
     
Inez H. Contreras, 85, died Thursday.
      A retired laborer in construction, he was born April 20, 1911, in Carlsbad, N.M., and was a 20-year resident of North Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his daughters, Maria Flores of San Jose, Calif., and Mary of North Las Vegas; sons, Jose of San Jose and Delores and Catarino, both of Phoenix; sisters, David Diaz of Tucson, Ariz., and Felipa Holguin of San Jose; brother, Julian of Las Cruces, N.M.; 26 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. with a service at 6 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary-Downtown. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Christopher Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Emily O. Farrar, 72, died Thursday in a local hospital.
      A homemaker, she was born Sept. 18, 1924, in New York City and was a 12-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her son, Robert of Sylmar, Calif.; daughters, Jennifer of New York City, Victoria and Phyllis, both of Las Vegas, Polly of Norwalk, Conn., and Constance Stoner of Damascus, Md.; and five grandchildren.
      Services will be at noon Sunday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern. The family requests donations be made to Reach Out, Box 4104, Las Vegas, 89127.
     
     Robert Green
     
     
Robert Earle Green, 70, died Thursday in a local hospital.
      A Navy veteran of World War II, he was born July 7, 1926, in San Angelo, Texas, and was a retired chef in a restaurant. He was a 27-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
      He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; and son, Robin, both of Las Vegas; daughters, Marsha Peables of Buda, Texas, Karen of Austin, Texas, and Kelly of Spring, Texas; and four grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary-Downtown. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Florence Lee Griffitts, 93, died Thursday in a local care center.
      A homemaker, she was born Jan. 9, 1904, in Kansas and was a five-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her sons, Wayne Vandever of Las Vegas and William Hames of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters, Rhoda Kroll of Long Beach, Calif., and Scharlyene Adams of Portland, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
      Services will be held in California. Bunkers Eden Vale Mortuary handled arrangements.

Gail James, 58, died Wednesday.
      A retired data entry operator in city government, she was born April 12, 1938, in Winchester, Ky., and was a five-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her daughter, Alisa Rigg; mother, Margret Woodard; and sister, Gretta Ferrar, all of Las Vegas; brother, Ira Woodard II of Alameda, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
      Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne.

Joan Lamparelli-Dugan, 51, died Thursday in Nathan Adelson Hospice.
      An insurance salesperson, she was born Nov. 2, 1945, in Chicago and was a four-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her husband, James Dugan of Las Vegas; son, John Janas of Weehawken, N.J.; daughter, Dawn Hjorleifsson of Des Moines, Iowa; father, James Lamparelli of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
      Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern.

Relda Whitney Leavitt, 79, died Wednesday.
      A homemaker, she was born April 3, 1917, in St. Thomas and was a lifetime resident of Nevada.
      She is survived by her husband, Len of Boulder City; daughters, Sharon of Las Vegas, and Janice Gardner and Janet, both of Layton, Utah; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. today in the Ninth and Clark Street chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be in Bunkers Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Bunkers Eden Vale Mortuary handled arrangements.

Jackie Lou Masillo, 50, died Thursday.
      A nurses aide, she was born May 1, 1946, in Portland, Ore., and was a three-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her sons, Carl Brantley, Greg Brantley, Rick and Robert; daughter, Audra Xander; parents, Donald Linde and Joann Linde, both of Clearlake, Calif.; three sisters; and six grandchildren.
      Services are private. Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society handled arrangements.

Antoinette J. "Toni" Pelletier, 64, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
      An office manager in a hotel, she was born April 23, 1932, in Milford, Mass., and was a nine-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her husband, Ernest of Las Vegas; son, Ernest of Fall River, Mass.; daughters, Chris Wojtkunski of Berkley, Mass., Lynn Berube of Swansea, Mass., and Debra Higson and Diane Gallant, both of Fall River; and 13 grandchildren.
      Burial will be in Fall River. American Burial & Cremation Services handled arrangements.

David Lee Prater Jr., 49, died Tuesday.
      A retired Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, he was born July 9, 1947, in Jacksonville, Fla., and was a 10-year resident of Las Vegas and a member of the Sabre Masonic Lodge No. 7.
      He is survived by his wife, Rachaiel of Las Vegas; sons, George of Sacramento, Calif., and Michael of Las Vegas; daughters, Shannin Willington of San Antonio and Shayla of Las Vegas; sisters, Pamela of Jacksonville, Angela of San Antonio, and Casandra and Ingred, both of South Carolina; brothers, Anthony Conwan of Henderson and Samuel of Jacksonville; and two grandchildren.
      Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne, where services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Arline Florence Rinaldi, 73, died Thursday in a local hospital.
      A waitress, she was born March 4, 1924, in Springfield, Mass., and was a 30-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Vickers of Chicopee, Mass.; and brother, Raymond Taft Jr. of West Brookfield, Mass.
      Services are private. Bunkers Eden Vale Mortuary handled arrangements.

Nancy Florence Strait, 65, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
      A chief financial officer, she was born July 14, 1931, in New Boston, Ohio, and was a 40-year resident of Las Vegas and a past president of the Emblem Club.
      She is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Las Vegas; son, Kenneth Jr. of New Jersey; daughter, Sundra Johnson of Rhode Island; brother, Coy Hale of Florida; sister, Hazel of Ohio; and two grandchildren.
      Graveside services will be at 2:15 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family requests donations be made to Safe Harbor Hospice. Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society handled arrangements.

William R. Ushman, 56, died Monday in a local hospital.
      A accountant for a steel engineering company, he was born July 13, 1940, in Springfield, Ill., and was a three-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Carol Lee of Las Vegas; son, Ken Mead of Kentucky; daughter, Debbie Mead; and father, William; and sister, Linda Woods, both of California.
      Services are private. Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society handled arrangements.

Basil J. Watson, 78, died Friday.
      A veteran of the Royal British Army, he was born Oct. 17, 1918, in Cardiff, Wales, and was an engineer for Centel and a 43-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Ettamae of Las Vegas; brother, Roy of Harare, Zimbabwe, Africa; and sisters, Noreen Ahern of Newport, Wales, Margeret Dyer of Norfolk, England, Norma Purnell of Caldicot, Wales, and Vera Beech of Wales.
      Services are private. American Burial & Cremation Services handled arrangements.

Alma S. West, 77, died Feb. 20.
      She was born Oct. 22, 1919, in Germany and was an 18-year resident of Las Vegas.
      She is survived by her daughter, Elsie Lampione; and one grandchild.

Jason Josiah York, 20, died Thursday.
      An Eagle Scout and a member of the Cross Country Running Club, he was born Oct. 6, 1976, in Las Vegas and was a lifetime resident. He served as senior class president at Rancho High School.
      He is survived by his parents, Danny and Landa; sisters, Stacey, Kimberly and Sheena; and grandparents, Leonard Marler, Twila Marler, John and Donna, all of Las Vegas.
      Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Davis Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at 10 a.m. Monday in the North Las Vegas Stake Center. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family requests donations be made to Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer.

Alfonso Zarara, 79, died March 8.
      An Army veteran of World War II, he was born Nov. 7, 1917, in Illinois and was an automobile salesman and a nine-year resident of Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his wife, Mary of Las Vegas; sons, Phil and Joe; and daughter, Marie Barnes, all of Cleveland; and five grandchildren.
      Services were held. Bunkers Eden Vale Mortuary handled arrangements.
