VOLUNTEERS: Positions available for helpers


     Admissions clerks. To collect entry fees at Lied Discovery Children's Museum.
      Assistant technology recyclers. To help with the rehabilitation and refurbishing of old computers and durable medical equipment such as wheelchairs, ramps and lifts for use in a lending library for disabled people.
      Bereavement helpers. To assist families, caregivers and significant others with the grieving process.
      Care assistants. To help cancer patients with grocery shopping, light housekeeping and running errands.
      Co-facilitators for domestic violence. To work with domestic violence offenders at weekly group sessions.
      Direct mailing helpers. To assist with compilation, collation, folding and stuffing of materials for direct marketing effort.
      Mentors. To work with young adults.
      Program assistants. To help with volunteer functions, such as displaying items at health fairs, participating at fund-raising events, taking brochures to doctors' offices, helping in an office and doing public speaking about organ and tissue donation.
      Senior center escorts. To provide information to visitors about services and offices located in the center and to escort clients to the correct offices.
      Tour guides. To give museum tours to children, adults and groups.How to help

Necessary training is provided for most listed volunteer positions. Many additional positions which are not listed are also available.
