Mary Ellen Almassy, 76, died Saturday in a local convalescent hospital.
A retired executive secretary, she was born July 4, 1920, in Cleveland, and was an 11-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Sr. of Las Vegas; sons, Arthur Jr. of Phoenix, Thomas and Eric, both of Henderson; sister, Jean Wess of Lompoc, Calif.; brother, Roy Ferguson of Santa Margarita, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern with services at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church and burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Joe Burt
Joe Rayford Burt, 59, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
A supervisor for Silver State Disposal Service, he was born Oct. 2, 1937, in Little Rock, Ark. and was a 43-year resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene; daughters, Dolphene and Marilyn Norris; son, Cornnis; stepdaughter, Doris Dean; stepsons, William Knight and Terry Knight, all of Las Vegas; mother, Bell of Hawthorne; brothers, Wayne of Colorado Springs, Colo. and William of Fallon; sisters, Jean Wooten of Meridian, Miss., Ruby Godsey of Cleveland, Sherill and Cynthia Grayson, both of Hawthorne, Christine Jones of Los Angeles, and Beverly of Stockton, Calif.; and 13 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in American Burial & Cremation Services with services at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Greater Carver Baptist Church and burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Giacomino Colombo
Giacomino L. Colombo, 63, died Thursday.
He was employed in the entertainment industry at MGM Grand, was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Brussels, Belgium, and was a 38-year resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his brothers, Luigo and Italo, both of Las Vegas, Alexsandro of Texas and Alberto of Australia; and sisters, Florence Togni and Jeanette Togni, both of Italy, and Lucia Bogie of Las Vegas.
Visitation will be 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Services are private.
Edward Elder
Edward Elder, 75, died Thursday.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was born Jan. 7, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo., was a retired wholesale hardware salesman, and a resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his son, Edward Jr. of Kearns, Utah; daughter, Kathleen Young of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern.
Evelyn Ferrara
Evelyn M. Ferrara, 69, died Friday in a local hospital.
A homemaker, she was born Nov. 5, 1927, in New Orleans, and was a 42-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Rickett and Barbara Keyser; son, Charles, all of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until services at noon Monday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern with burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary-Downtown handled the arrangements.
Ilga Futoma
Ilga Futoma, 73, died Wednesday in St. George, Utah.
A retired real estate agent, she was born March 20, 1924, in Cologne, Germany, and was a longtime previous resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her sisters, Lilo Hartman and Emmy Heinzer of Switzerland; brother Heinz Heinzer of Roanoke, Va.; companions, Teresa Klimkowska and Peter Klimkowski, both of Ottawa, Canada.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne handled the arrangements.
Maj. Charles George
Charles A. George, 79, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
A retired major of the Army and veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he was born Oct. 29, 1917, in Springfield, Ill., was a member of Retired Officers Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Association of Retired Persons and a 10-year resident of Henderson.
He is survived by his wife, Christine of Henderson; and sisters, Genevieve Tate and Synobia Payne, both of Chicago.
Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until services at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern followed by graveside services at 1:30 p.m. in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society in his name.

Lillian "Lil" Harkenrider, 46, died Wednesday in California.
A homemaker, she was born Dec. 4, 1950, in Las Vegas, was a charity fund raiser, member of Hotelmen's Association, Delta Zeta Sorority at UNLV, and a 21-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; daughter, Nikolene; son, Thomas, all of Carlsbad, Calif.; mother, Delma Leis; and brother, Art Leis, both of Las Vegas.
Services will be 6 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne. The family requests donations be made to Delta Zeta Sorority-Lillian Harkenrider Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Anne T. Kelly, 88, died Saturday.
A homemaker, she was born April 7, 1908, in Providence, R.I. and was a 10-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Gallaway of Las Vegas; two brothers; one sister, all of Rhode Island; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Violet May Perry, 90, died March 18, 1997.
She was born Feb. 8, 1907, in Indianapolis and was a 13-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her daughter, Lillian Soncrant of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be in Indiana.

Ralph R. Peterson, 80, died Friday in St. George, Utah.
A Navy veteran, and retired chief air traffic controller at McCarran International Airport, he was born March 8, 1917, in Kennard, Neb. and was a 46-year resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia of Washington, Utah; sons, Clark and Jack, both of Las Vegas, and Gary of Lakeville, Minn.; daughter, Deborah Lewis of Washington, Utah; sister, Iva Note of Edmonds, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Norval "Rick" Schneringer, 82, died Friday in a local hospital.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he was born June 27, 1914, in Mitchell, Neb., was a retired president of a satellite TV company, a member of Houston, Oklahoma City and Las Vegas rotary clubs, and a 12-year resident of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria of Las Vegas; son, James of Dallas; sister, LaVerne Roten Copsey of Spokane, Wash.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary-Eastern with entombment in Palm Valley View Cemetery. Palm Mortuary-Jones handled the arrangements.

Hunter R. Sprouse, 84, died Thursday in a local convalescent center.
A retired refrigeration repairman, he was born July 24, 1912, in Frost, W.Va. and was a 12-year resident of Henderson.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Henderson; sons, James and Oliver, both of West Virginia; daughters, Gloria of Henderson and Sarah Posey; brothers, Oliver and Quentin, all of West Virginia; sisters, Dorothy Christensen and Martha Wyatt, both of Maryland, and Shirley Freeman of Virginia; and 12 grandchildren.

A homemaker, she was born Jan. 1, 1926, in Hoboken, N.J., was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, a volunteer at Desert Springs Hospital, and a 20-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Diane Gregory; son, Ralph Gregory, all of Las Vegas; sisters, Delores Brady of New Jersey and Ann Kaptainis of New York; and one grandchild.

A retired waitress, she was born July 26, 1925, in Mount Vernon, Texas, and was a 45-year resident of Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, Pat E. of Las Vegas; daughters, Erma of North Las Vegas and Glenda Muller of Henderson; sons, Fred and Pat L., both of Las Vegas; sisters, Estele Oliver of Midland, Texas, and Bernice Bryan of Lubbock, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
