Henderson Posse leads Division I in the team event after the first weekend of the Nevada Women's Bowling Association State Tournament. The 47th annual tournament will continue at Terrible's Town Bowling Center in Henderson through June 1. Henderson Posse posted a 3,200 team score. Placer Dome of the White Pine District is second at 3,186, and Humboldt County District's Mezotrace is third at 3,184. Kelly Brady and Kathy Grill of the Greater Reno District lead the Division I doubles at 1,339. Brenda Ryan and Patricia Nichols of Humboldt County are second at 1,325, while Kathryn McPherson and Aggie Smith of Greater Reno and Alice Hansen and Marjorie Potter of the Colorado River District are tied for third at 1,318. Debbie Masterson of the Capitol City (Carson City) District leads the Division I singles with a 725 series. Donna Shirrel of Greater Reno and Kim Taber-Johnson of Capitol City are tied for second at 722. Taber-Johnson heads the Division I all-events with a 2,058. Shirrel is second at 2,033, and Catharine Welch is third at 2,017. Pat Mahoney, president of the Henderson Women's Bowling Association, said more than 1,500 bowlers are expected to compete during the four weekends of the state tournament. -- DIVISION II STANDINGS -- Team: 1. Janelle Beehler, White Pine, 2,191. -- SENIOR SCRATCH -- John Greco captured the local Senior Scratch Bowlers Tour event at Sunset Lanes on Sunday with a 1,201 for the $260 first prize. Greco rolled 251 and 267 his last two games to overtake Dean Brennan, who finished second at 1,179. Lee Lamont was third at 1,156. Greco also teamed with Anthony Marine to win the Lucky Pick doubles first prize of $110 with a 2,259. Lamont and Wilt Tate were second in the doubles at 2,251, winning $70. High side pots were 288 by Tate, 287 by Lamont, 267s by Greco and John Gocci and 265 by Bar Tulanian. -- DOODY SECOND -- Vaughn Doody of Las Vegas finished second in the West Coast Senior Tour in the Super Senior Division with a 5,003.
