A pilot whose body and crashed plane were found near Jean on Oct. 4 was identified Friday as Daryl Stone, 60, of White Lake, Mich.
According to Civil Air Patrol authorities, Stone's body and the wreckage of his single-engine plane were found on a rocky ridge near Jean. A spokeswoman for the Clark County coroner's office said Stone was identified by fingerprints.
Stone was reported missing Sept. 25 when his aircraft was presumed to have crashed in bad weather stemming from Hurricane Nora. Officials said he was flying solo from Bishop, Calif., to Boulder City at the time of his disappearance. He failed to file a flight plan, which hampered the search.
